LET US PRAY...
As many of you know, I am an author of Catholic prayer books. One of the best ways to know Jesus more intimately and show our love for Him is through prayer. Prayer keeps us focused on the spiritual life and opens a channel for grace so He can make His presence known to us.
Let us keep in our prayers all those who are suffering because of the earthquake in Japan.
Today's prayer:
Gospel reading for March 15, 2011:
"And Jacob conceived Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. Now the procreation of the Christ occurred in this way. After his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they lived together, she was found to have conceived in her womb by the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph, her husband, since he was just and was not willing to hand her over, preferred to send her away secretly. But while thinking over these things, behold, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: 'Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to accept Mary as your wife. For what has been formed in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she shall give birth to a son. And you shall call his name JESUS. For he shall accomplish the salvation of his people from their sins.' Then Joseph, arising from sleep, did just as the Angel of the Lord had instructed him, and he accepted her as his wife." {Matthew 1:16,18-21,24}
Saint Joseph, we praise you on this, your feast day, for the courage and trust you showed in taking Mary as your spouse and providing a home of our Savior. Help us always to overcome our fears and seek to do what is right and just. Amen.
