Disney has created a site where parents and children can learn about park safety. Parents with safety concerns will want to read the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Report on Safety which is "the first edition of a publication developed specifically to provide our Guests, community and business partners, and shareholders with a better understanding of the steps we take to make our properties safe for the millions of people who visit each year."

Two new programs will debut this Fall when Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" kicks in:
Disney Engagements - "staffers will help you pick out just the right spot to pop the question. They'll even arrange (for a price, of course) to have your fiancee's favorite character on hand to share this special moment. Or -- better yet -- have fireworks streak across the sky when she says 'Yes."
Disney Couture Weddings - "Disney design teams will work closely with the bride-to-be to make sure that this high-priced affair ($100,000-$250,000) will be one that her friends & family will talk about for ages. Her every wish will be Disney's command." (Source: Jim Hill Media, 08/09/06)

Starting in December, visitors to Universal can become part of the live audience for the filming of a new NBC show.

"Authorities in Shanghai have started preparing a site for a Disneyland theme park, although central authorities have not yet reached any agreement with Walt Disney Co."

Travel Tips to be Prepared for Enhanced Security
"The Transportation Security Administration announced new rules Sunday giving airline passengers permission to carry up to 4 ounces of liquid nonprescription medicine. TSA had previously banned all liquid medications.
TSA also said all passengers will be instructed to remove their shoes during security checks. The shoes have to be placed on an X-ray belt for screening before passengers can put them back on...
In other measures, TSA said it would let flyers carry treatments for low blood sugar, including glucose gel for diabetics; solid lipstick; and baby food. But it said all aerosols are prohibited.
On Saturday, the TSA added mascara to the list of banned items, which includes baby teethers containing gel or liquid, children's toys containing gel and gel candles."
