LET US PRAY...
As many of you know, I am an author of Catholic prayer books. One of the best ways to know Jesus more intimately and show our love for Him is through prayer. Prayer keeps us focused on the spiritual life and opens a channel for grace so He can make His presence known to us.
Today's thought:
Bishop Lancelot Andrewes (1555-1626) of Winchester England composed for his own personal use some of the most beautiful prayers ever published. Blessed Cardinal Newman also used these prayers. The collection, published after his death, contain morning and evening prayers, as well as prayers for each day of the week. It is written in Elizabethan English - think King James version of the 23rd psalm. See Amazon.com for "Lancelot Andrewes and His Private Devotions."

Dear Lord, from the moment I was conceived in my mother's womb, you blessed me and reserved a place for me in your kingdom after my earthly pilgrimage. May we all experience the joy of living the full life you planned for us. May our life bring you glory. Amen.

Dear Lord, help us, your children, to hold life precious from conception in the womb until natural death. Forgive us, Father, for ignoring the cries of millions of our murdered brothers and sisters. Have mercy on us at the mighty judgment seat of Christ. Amen.
