So many offers! Which one is best?
Beth, our travel agent, writes:
"If you’re completely confused with all the new Disney offers this week, don’t worry; you’re not alone. I’ve been bombarded with questions, and there really isn’t a simple answer. Which deal is best depends on when you’re going, where you’re staying, the number of people in your party and their ages, and more.
With the offer that discounts the room portion of the stay, you can save a bundle if you’re headed to a deluxe resort or a villa. In fact, it almost always outdoes free dining. On the other hand, at a value resort, the room discount is minimal so in most cases you’ll save more with free dining.
And then there’s the gift card offer which can go either way. It’s almost never the best deal if at least one of the others is available – but sometimes it’s the only one you can get.
Disney’s website makes it difficult to locate and price all three of these offers. Fortunately, Affordable Disney members don’t have to bother. Just send me some information about what you’re thinking about doing and I’ll give you a run-down on the price options. Once you’re booked then I will track the reservation and automatically try to get you any better deals that come along."

Fairy Tales Come True at Newly Designed Franck’s Studio at Walt Disney World Resort
Franck’s Bridal Studio at Walt Disney World Resort has undergone a major enhancement, bringing high-tech tools to couples tying the knot at the popular wedding destination.
Franck’s, named after the wedding planner character Martin Short played in the film "Father of The Bride," was built 15 years ago alongside Disney’s magical Wedding Pavilion. The Victorian summerhouse was created as a one-stop shop for couples to meet with a Disney wedding planner to review all the details for the big event. The immersive studio showcases cakes, linens, floral, table settings and other details for a dream-come-true affair.
A highlight of the Franck’s makeover involves online tools to assist with remote planning, including a Facebook application (http://apps.facebook.com/Disney-weddings) so couples can easily share details of their wedding with friends and family. The tools also allow guests to accept RSVPs and purchase tickets and room nights. Using Google Earth images and video, the Virtual Venue Tool brings storybook wedding and reception venues at Disney to life with the click of a mouse.
Two new planning rooms, additional computers and televisions, and newly designed furnishings round out the elegant setting. (Source: Press Release, 08/16/10)

The Fun is Ghostly but Not Ghastly on 24 Select Nights During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom
Special Savings for Advance Ticket Purchases
"Boo" has never been uttered in a bouncier, bubblier, "not-so-scary" fashion than during Mickey’s "Boo-to-You" Halloween parade ….. and ghostly apparitions never have been more wistful than they are skittering along the rooftops of Main Street, U.S.A. When you put it together with a green and orange fireworks spectacular and Land-to-Land trick-or-treating throughout Magic Kingdom, you have a Halloween event like none other: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
It’s enough to bring a smile to the face of a Disney villain! And the special-ticket after-hours party on 24 select evenings between Sept. 14 and Nov. 1, 2010, at Walt Disney World Resort will do just that. About the only one not wearing a grin is The Headless Horseman as he rides his trusty steed through the park ahead (no pun intended) of the parade.
Guests wanting to join in the spirit (no pun intended) of the party are welcome to don their favorite Halloween costumes for the 7 p.m.-to-12 midnight event. The "Boo-to-You" parade takes place at 8:15 and 10:30 p.m. and the "Happy HalloWishes" fireworks spectacular at 9:30 p.m.
In addition to trick-or-treating, meet and greets with characters and entertainment unique to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, many popular Magic Kingdom attractions - including, of course, The Haunted Mansion - are available to experience (but beware of hitchhiking ghosts).
Party dates in 2010 are: Sept. 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30; Oct. 1, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31; and Nov. 1.
Prices are $59.95 (ages 10+) and $53.95 (ages 3-9) for all dates except Oct. 29 and Oct. 31 when tickets cost $64.95 (ages 10+) and $58.95 (ages 3-9). Advance purchase (prior to event day) savings of $6 per ticket are available for the parties on Sept. 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30; Oct. 1, 3, 7, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26; and Nov. 1.

With the offer that discounts the room portion of the stay, you can save a bundle if you’re headed to a deluxe resort or a villa. In fact, it almost always outdoes free dining. On the other hand, at a value resort, the room discount is minimal so in most cases you’ll save more with free dining.
And then there’s the gift card offer which can go either way. It’s almost never the best deal if at least one of the others is available – but sometimes it’s the only one you can get.

Fairy Tales Come True at Newly Designed Franck’s Studio at Walt Disney World Resort
Franck’s Bridal Studio at Walt Disney World Resort has undergone a major enhancement, bringing high-tech tools to couples tying the knot at the popular wedding destination.
Franck’s, named after the wedding planner character Martin Short played in the film "Father of The Bride," was built 15 years ago alongside Disney’s magical Wedding Pavilion. The Victorian summerhouse was created as a one-stop shop for couples to meet with a Disney wedding planner to review all the details for the big event. The immersive studio showcases cakes, linens, floral, table settings and other details for a dream-come-true affair.
A highlight of the Franck’s makeover involves online tools to assist with remote planning, including a Facebook application (http://apps.facebook.com/Disney-weddings) so couples can easily share details of their wedding with friends and family. The tools also allow guests to accept RSVPs and purchase tickets and room nights. Using Google Earth images and video, the Virtual Venue Tool brings storybook wedding and reception venues at Disney to life with the click of a mouse.

The Fun is Ghostly but Not Ghastly on 24 Select Nights During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom

"Boo" has never been uttered in a bouncier, bubblier, "not-so-scary" fashion than during Mickey’s "Boo-to-You" Halloween parade ….. and ghostly apparitions never have been more wistful than they are skittering along the rooftops of Main Street, U.S.A. When you put it together with a green and orange fireworks spectacular and Land-to-Land trick-or-treating throughout Magic Kingdom, you have a Halloween event like none other: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
It’s enough to bring a smile to the face of a Disney villain! And the special-ticket after-hours party on 24 select evenings between Sept. 14 and Nov. 1, 2010, at Walt Disney World Resort will do just that. About the only one not wearing a grin is The Headless Horseman as he rides his trusty steed through the park ahead (no pun intended) of the parade.
Guests wanting to join in the spirit (no pun intended) of the party are welcome to don their favorite Halloween costumes for the 7 p.m.-to-12 midnight event. The "Boo-to-You" parade takes place at 8:15 and 10:30 p.m. and the "Happy HalloWishes" fireworks spectacular at 9:30 p.m.
In addition to trick-or-treating, meet and greets with characters and entertainment unique to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, many popular Magic Kingdom attractions - including, of course, The Haunted Mansion - are available to experience (but beware of hitchhiking ghosts).
Party dates in 2010 are: Sept. 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30; Oct. 1, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31; and Nov. 1.
Prices are $59.95 (ages 10+) and $53.95 (ages 3-9) for all dates except Oct. 29 and Oct. 31 when tickets cost $64.95 (ages 10+) and $58.95 (ages 3-9). Advance purchase (prior to event day) savings of $6 per ticket are available for the parties on Sept. 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30; Oct. 1, 3, 7, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26; and Nov. 1.
